What Fun Fotos and photo sculptures are all about.

standard cut out
Hello!

Thanks for stopping by.

Fun Fotos creates photo sculptures that are shipped nationwide. Some regions of the country have not seen photo sculptures and don't have a clue what I'm talking about. Also, some parts of the country call them by another name...cutouts, popouts, photo statues, statuettes, sillouettes, standees, stand-ups etc.

In general, the process involves adhering a photo to a material and then cutting the material and mounting to a base so that the subject or image "stands up" like a statue. They range in size depending on the size of photo.

A variety of material can be used on which to adhere the photo such as acrylic (what we use), wood, foam board, masonite (pressed paper) and a variety of products that are derived from the previously mentioned materials.

Cutouts and popouts are used to explain the design and variety of a photo sculpture. With a cutout, the background is removed and only the subject remains and is mounted to a base, if desired. A popout is a photo sculpture with the background intact and the subject protrudes forward, giving it a 3-D appearance.

Just about any printed photo or artwork can be used. A variety of cutouts and/or popouts can be placed on a base. Graphics and other props too.

Therefore, photo sculptures can be finished and displayed in a variety of ways and
serving a variety of purposes. Most common is to highlight a favorite picture of a sports team, athlete, wedding, classic car, children and grandchildren etc for display in one's home or workplace. They are useful in the business/industry world, as well, for countertop displays, gifts, packaging and promotional items.

In future posts we'll show you more examples and give you further details about the products we create.
